Vanilla Buttercream

This is a great all rounder buttercream icing.

Try adding different flavours and colours to complement your cakes!

Makes enough for 12 cupcakes or

one sponge cake.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (74g) dextrose

  • 1 1/2 (23g)Tablespoons water

  • 90g softened salted butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons full fat milk powder

Classic Vanilla Cupcakes - Dextrose Recipes
  1. Combine dextrose and water in a small saucepan. Stir over a medium heat to dissolve.

  2. Bring to the boil and stir whilst boiling for 1 minute.

  3. Remove from heat and set over a bowl of cool water.

  4. In a small bowl, beat butter and vanilla until creamy. Once syrup has cooled completely gradually pour into butter mix whilst beating.

  5. Add milk powder and beat until smooth.
